Ways in Which to Cultivate Mindfulness and its Deeply Optimistic and Transformative View of Human Nature
While scientific research emphasizes mindfulness’s powerful impact within our psychological mechanisms and neural pathways; today, I want to focus on mindfulness’s ability to seize hold of our life and lives circumstances with eternal kindness towards ourselves, honoring the possibilities of living a fully satisfying and meaningful life even through struggle and challenge.
Simple to say right? But how many of us are living the lives we envision for ourselves, with self compassion and self love, not narcissistic love, but authentic, compassionate, self love?
“The practice of mindfulness involves finding, recognizing, and making use of that in us which is already okay, already beautiful, already whole by virtue of our being human and drawing upon it to live our lives as if it really mattered how we stand in relationship to what arises, whatever it is.” -Jon Kabat Zinn
Simply said… Mindfulness is how we are in relationship to everything around us, this includes our minds, bodies, our thoughts and emotions, as well as, our past and what transpires from our past that we bring into every aspect of our life, with integrity, with kindness toward ourselves and others, and the wisdom that arises from embracing each moment, even in difficult and challenging times.
