The Importance of Teaching your Child to Express the Full Range of Emotions in Healthy Ways

The Importance of Teaching your Child to Express the Full Range of Emotions in Healthy Ways

In today’s fast paced world with demanding pressures of success and perfection many children are beginning to show symptoms of depression and anxiety at a very early age. An inability to express anger in healthy ways could be a sign of depression and agression could be a sign of a lack of assertiveness skills that could be the first sign of anxiety. It is normal and healthy for children to learn to express the full range of emotions and to begin to understand how to express and manage human emotion in healthy ways. When parents and caregivers are able to hold a safe space for children to navigate through and effectively manage their emotions in healthy ways, more complex diagnosis could be prevented.

According to the Child Mind Institute, evaluating what a child needs is more of a narrative rather than a check the box formula. Mindful Mountain Wellness offers workshops that help parents help their children express the full range of emotions in healthy ways, beginning with awareness.
